[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Literature reviews on creatine as an ergogenic aid reflects the important benefits for athletic performance for rapid energy provision during muscle contraction. The amount of creatine depends on the type of sport, weight, fitness level and age of the individual. For instance, high intensity physical activity requires greater creatine levels in storage, which provides muscles with more quick energy for activities such as sprinting and weight bearing exercises.

Sports enthusiasts, athletes, body -builders, vegetarians and also the average person wanting to lose weight can benefit from creatine supplementation which increases muscle mass and strength. Creatine is converted to creatinine, which is an unusable byproduct and cleared by the kidneys for removal. Creatine Hydrochloride for example is more soluble in water than Creatine Monohydrate, and is a key aspect for absorption.  Generally speaking due to its higher solubility, a smaller dose is needed and is not dependent on pre-loading.

Creatine supplementation has also been shown in studies to prevent the increase of pro-inflammatory cytokines induced by strenuous exercise. It also seems to be effective for conditions that are inflammatory in nature as a result of aging. For example, post- menopausal women with knee arthritis who take creatine supplements in conjunction with strength exercises show an improved outcome of physical functioning.

Supplementation of creatine is also being researched for Parkinson’s and seems to be promising for early symptoms, delaying the advancement of the disease but has no effect on the later advanced stages.
